Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 5: Sohum Shah’s Film Continues to Impress After Re-Release, Crosses ₹10 Crores

The Tumbbad box office journey has been nothing short of remarkable following its re-release. Starring Sohum Shah, this folk horror drama has been making waves at the box office, much like it did during its original 2018 release.

Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the film, which also stars Rudra Soni, Harsh K, and Anita Date-Kelkar, has once again captivated audiences, earning widespread acclaim.

The film, written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, and Rahi Anil Barve, delves into the eerie tale of the cursed village of Tumbbad, where a Konkanastha Brahmin family is entangled in a quest for their jinxed ancestral wealth.

The village, cursed with endless rain for worshipping the demon god Hastar, forms the backdrop for this spine-chilling narrative. Since its re-release, Tumbbad has not only thrilled audiences but also saw a significant boost in its box office collections, earning ₹1.65 crores on the first day.

Tumbbad vs Stree 2 vs The Buckingham Murders

Interestingly, Tumbbad is facing competition from Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 as well as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders.

However, Tumbbad has successfully outperformed The Buckingham Murders and continues to hold its ground against Stree 2, demonstrating its strong appeal among viewers.

Amidst the film’s success, Sohum Shah has excitingly announced a sequel, Tumbbad 2, with a mysterious teaser featuring the characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang.

The teaser includes a haunting voiceover by Sohum Shah, saying, “Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega…darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega,” hinting at even more thrilling tales to come.
