Blink Twice Box Office (Worldwide): Channing Tatum’s Thriller Nears $50 Million Milestone

Despite a slow start, Channing Tatum’s psychological thriller Blink Twice has emerged as a surprise late-summer box office hit.

The film, which marks Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, is now on the verge of hitting a major global box office milestone as its theatrical run nears an end.

Released on August 23, 2024, Blink Twice had a modest opening, generating $7.3 million during its first weekend, which raised concerns about its commercial potential.

However, in the following weeks, boosted by positive reviews, the film gained momentum and achieved several notable box office feats. Within just two weeks of its release, the film crossed the $20 million mark domestically.

Now, one month later, Blink Twice has more than doubled its production budget of $20 million, raking in over $22 million at the domestic box office and an additional $21.1 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $43.1 million.

This means the film is now less than $7 million away from hitting the $50 million mark, an impressive achievement for Kravitz’s debut as a director.

In this thriller, Channing Tatum plays a shady tech billionaire who invites two women to his private island, where a seemingly harmless party turns into something sinister.

Blink Twice holds a 74% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, securing a “fresh” rating from critics, though audiences have given it a modest 69% score.

On opening day, the movie earned a B- CinemaScore, reflecting mixed but generally favorable responses from viewers.

Critics have particularly praised Kravitz’s direction. According to Collider, “She’s exceptional at building tension, evoking a sense of dread and anticipation that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.”
