Trupti Dimri, known for her roles in Laila Majnu, Kala, and Bulbul, has taken the film industry by storm with her latest release, Animal.
This movie has not only changed the course of her career but has also made her a national sensation. In a recent interview at the India Today Conclave 2024 held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, Trupti opened up about her career journey, her approach to work, and the reasons behind her distancing from the glitzy film parties.
Becoming the ‘It Girl’
Post the release of Animal, Trupti has garnered immense love and attention, earning her the title of ‘national crush.’ Reflecting on her sudden rise to fame, she shared,
“I was not prepared for this. It felt like a surprise. It took time to understand it, and I am grateful for all the love.”
No Phone Calls for Work
Trupti emphasized that she doesn’t believe in calling producers to seek work. “I would feel embarrassed to do that. I consider myself lucky to have worked with people who appreciated my talent and approached me,” she said.
For Trupti, acting is a part of her life, but it doesn’t define her entire existence. She values her personal life and family and aims to choose roles that resonate with her rather than pursuing them out of desperation.
Choosing Animal
When asked about her decision to take on the role in Animal, Trupti expressed her desire to never become too comfortable in her acting career. She stated,
“While I enjoyed roles in Bulbul and Kala, Animal was different and challenging. I had to experiment with my craft.” She further added that she was excited when Sandeep Reddy Vanga explained her character, Zoey, and believes that taking on challenging roles is crucial for an actor’s growth.
Addressing Controversies
Regarding the trolling surrounding Animal, Trupti mentioned, “The character I portrayed is not me. Everyone has different sides, and we explore these through our roles. An actor gets to experience multiple emotions in one lifetime, and I never judge a character I play.”
Why Avoid Film Parties?
Trupti revealed that she is a private person and often disconnects from the outside world, especially when she is away in the mountains. “I think it’s essential to take time for yourself to figure things out and engage in self-reflection,” she added.
Upcoming Projects
Trupti has an exciting lineup ahead, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Dhadak 2, and Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala Video, set to be released soon. Her previous film, Bad News, showcased her versatility and talent.
